Why am I being charged for creating a Masked Card?

When you fund a Masked Card with a credit or debit card, a processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction applies.

There are two important things to note about the fees:

1. IronVest does not make money from these charges. We’re simply passing along the fees we incur to keep Masked Cards available to you.

2. You can avoid fees by linking a bank account. For IronVest Ultimate plan users, linking a bank account as your funding source means you won’t be charged extra fees when creating Masked Cards, as these transactions are included in your subscription. On average, users save $212 a year by using their bank account instead of a card.

We understand that no one likes extra fees, especially when they come from payment processors, and we’re actively looking for better solutions. Until then, switching to a bank account can help you avoid these fees entirely.
